What we deliver and which problem we solve

    What we deliver

Infra Remonti EOOD specialises in the comprehensive construction of garden pathways for private properties, residential complexes, hotels, and public parks. Our service covers all stages – from initial design and layout to the final laying of the surface and site cleanup. We have specialised teams trained to work with various materials, including vibrated concrete pavers, natural stone (gneiss, granite, limestone), clinker bricks, and decorative concrete slabs. We use modern compact machinery such as Kubota mini-excavators and Wacker Neuson vibratory plates, which allow precise work even in hard-to-reach courtyards, without damaging existing landscaping. Our main operating area is Varna and the surrounding region, where we are familiar with the specifics of the soil and climate, but we also undertake significant projects in Burgas, Plovdiv, and Sofia, adapting the construction technology to local conditions. We work in close cooperation with landscape architects or directly with property owners to create pathways that are not only strong but also harmoniously integrated into the overall vision of the property. Our goal is to deliver a finished product that requires no maintenance and retains its functionality and aesthetics for decades to come, backed by our 15-year written warranty.

    Which problem we solve

An unprofessionally constructed garden pathway quickly becomes a source of problems and additional costs. The main problem we solve is surface instability, leading to subsidence, displacement of slabs, and the formation of dangerous unevenness. This happens due to a lack of a properly prepared base – insufficient excavation depth, a missing geotextile layer, or inadequate compaction of the load-bearing layers. As a result, under the influence of load and climatic conditions, the pathway deforms. Another critical problem is poor drainage. Without a precisely set slope (minimum 1.5%), water accumulates on the surface, forms puddles, and freezes in winter, destroying both the paving and the joints. This is particularly true for clay soils in the Varna region. We prevent this through laser levelling and the construction of a drainage base. Weed growth through the joints is the third major problem that spoils the appearance of the pathway and requires constant maintenance. We solve this by using quality geotextile under the base and filling the joints with polymer sand, which hardens and creates an impenetrable barrier. By avoiding these technical errors, we save you future repair costs and ensure that your investment in a garden pathway is long-lasting, safe, and visually appealing.

What does the 'Garden Pathway Construction' service include?

Our goal is to provide a finished product ready for use. Every stage of the process is executed with attention to detail and in accordance with construction standards.

    Design and Layout

We consult with you on the choice of shape and materials. We perform precise layout of the future pathway with marking spray and stakes, defining its exact boundaries and levels according to the approved design. This stage is critical for the final aesthetic appearance and functionality.

    Machine and Manual Excavation

We carry out excavation work to the designed depth, typically between 25 and 40 cm, depending on the soil type and anticipated load. We use a mini-excavator for speed and efficiency, and in tight spaces or near existing structures, work is done manually to avoid damage.

    Geotextile Installation

At the bottom of the excavation, we lay dense non-woven geotextile (minimum 150 gr/m²). It serves as a separating and filtering layer – preventing the mixing of the subgrade with the crushed stone base layer and stopping the growth of roots and weeds from below.

    Base Layer Construction

We build a load-bearing base from fractionated crushed stone (fraction 0-63 mm or 0-40 mm) with a minimum thickness of 15-20 cm. The material is laid in layers of 10 cm, with each layer compacted with a vibratory plate to achieve a compaction coefficient of 95-98%.

    Garden Kerb Installation

We install concrete or plastic garden kerbs, which serve to laterally reinforce the paving and prevent its displacement. The kerbs are laid on a strip concrete foundation (concrete class C12/15) for maximum long-term stability.

    Levelling Layer Construction

Over the compacted base, we lay a levelling layer of sand or fine aggregate (2-5 mm) with a thickness of 3-5 cm. This layer is precisely levelled with straightedges to create an perfectly flat surface for laying the final paving and to ensure the necessary slopes for drainage.

    Final Paving Installation

We manually lay your chosen material – pavers, stone slabs, or clinker – following the selected laying pattern. We ensure uniform joints and monitor the flatness of the surface. If necessary, precise cutting of elements is performed with a diamond disc cutter.

    Grouting the Paving

We fill the joints between the elements. We standardly use dry quartz sand, and as a premium option, we offer polymer sand (e.g., Sika FastFix), which hardens after wetting and creates an impenetrable barrier, preventing weed growth and not washing out from rain or cleaning.

    Final Vibration and Compaction

After grouting, the entire surface of the pathway is compacted with a vibratory plate equipped with a rubber mat. This process finally settles the pavers into the sand bed and compacts the grouting material, creating a strong and monolithic surface.

    Site Cleanup and Waste Removal

After completion of the installation work, we clear the site of all construction debris. Excavated soil and waste materials are transported to a regulated landfill, leaving your yard clean and ready for use.

    Our 8-Step Pathway Construction Process

We follow an established methodology that guarantees quality, efficiency, and predictable results for every project.

    1. 1

Step 1: Free On-Site Survey and Quote

Following your inquiry, our technical manager visits the site at a time convenient for you. We take measurements and assess the specifics of the terrain – access, soil type, slopes. We discuss your design and material requirements. Within 48 hours, you receive a detailed quote with a breakdown of prices and clear deadlines, based on the actual project parameters.

    2. 2

      Step 2: Contract and Planning

Upon approval of the quote, we sign a formal contract outlining all aspects of the project – scope, materials, final price, completion deadlines, warranty terms, and payment schedule (30/40/30). We establish a linear work schedule and coordinate the start date with you, considering material deliveries and weather conditions.

    3. 3

Step 3: Materials Delivery and Site Preparation

We organise the delivery of all necessary materials – aggregates, geotextile, kerbs, and the chosen paving. The storage location is selected to avoid interfering with your daily activities. The site is secured and prepared for the start of excavation work. We also deliver the necessary machinery – mini-excavator, vibratory plates.

    4. 4

Step 4: Excavation Work and Base Formation

We begin with precise excavation according to the marked contours. The excavated soil is removed immediately or temporarily stored at your request. Geotextile is laid at the bottom of the excavation, followed by layer-by-layer backfilling and compaction of the crushed stone base. Each layer is checked for thickness and degree of compaction.

    5. 5

Step 5: Kerb Installation and Bed Levelling

Kerbs are installed along the perimeter of the pathway. They are placed on a concrete base and precisely levelled to form the frame of the paving. Then, the sand bed is laid and levelled, with a laser level and straightedges used to set the final levels and slopes for water drainage. Accuracy at this step is crucial for an even final appearance.

    6. 6

      Step 6: Paving Installation

Our specialists begin manual or machine laying of the pavers or slabs onto the prepared sand bed. Work proceeds from an already laid surface to avoid disturbing the levelling layer. Straight lines and the chosen design are maintained. Elements are fitted tightly, leaving uniform joints of 3-5 mm. End elements are cut with a diamond disc.

    7. 7

Step 7: Grouting and Final Compaction

Once the entire area is covered, the joints are filled with your chosen material – quartz or polymer sand. The material is evenly distributed with a broom until the joints are completely filled. This is followed by final compaction with a vibratory plate, equipped with a rubber pad, to protect the paving surface from damage.

    8. 8

Step 8: Cleanup, Handover, and Warranty

The site is thoroughly cleaned of any residues. We conduct a joint inspection with you to ensure everything is completed to your expectations. You accept the site by signing a handover protocol. You receive your written 15-year warranty for the quality of materials used and work performed.

Why Clients in Varna Choose Infra Remonti for Their Garden Pathways?

Our focus is on technical precision and the durability of the final product, which sets us apart in the market.

    • We guarantee a minimum slope of 1.5% for drainage, confirmed with a laser level, eliminating the risk of puddles and ice.
    • We use only certified crushed stone with controlled granulometry for the base, ensuring even compaction and zero subsidence.
    • Our standard includes a minimum of 20 cm of compacted crushed stone base, even for pedestrian pathways, for added security against settlement.
    • We apply vibratory compaction in layers of 10 cm, achieving over 95% Proctors density, far exceeding the industry standard.
    • We offer joint filling with Sika polymer sand, which creates an elastic and strong joint, 100% preventing weeds and water erosion.
    • All our kerbs are installed on a concrete bed of class C12/15, not just on sand, to ensure the structural integrity of the pathway.
    • We have compact vibratory plates (under 150 kg) with rubber pads that do not damage delicate surfaces like natural stone or clinker.
    • For coastal areas like Varna, we recommend pavers with frost resistance class F150 and salt resistance, which do not crumble from salty mist.
    • We issue a 15-year written warranty covering structural problems such as subsidence, settlement, or displacement of elements exceeding 5 mm.
    • Our teams are trained to work cleanly and organised, minimising impact on the rest of your property and garden.
    • We are part of the larger 'Bulgar Build' EOOD structure, which gives us access to preferential material prices and a large resource of equipment.

Materials that guarantee longevity and aesthetics

We select only proven materials from leading manufacturers that meet our high quality standards.

Vibrated Concrete Pavers (Semmelrock / Technocim)

We use two-layer vibrated concrete pavers from manufacturers like Semmelrock. Their standard thickness for pedestrian pathways is 6 cm. They possess compressive strength over 40 MPa and frost resistance class F150, making them ideal for climatic conditions in Bulgaria, including coastal areas. Available in dozens of colours and shapes, allowing for diverse design solutions.

Natural Stone – Gneiss from Ivaylovgrad

For a luxurious and eco-friendly look, we often use cut or irregular gneiss. We primarily work with material from the Ivaylovgrad region, known for its strength and golden-beige hues. Slabs are between 2 and 4 cm thick and are laid on a reinforced cement-sand base to compensate for unevenness and ensure stability. The material is practically eternal and unaffected by weather conditions.

    Polypropylene Geotextile (Typaro / Geotex)

Under the crushed stone base, we always lay non-woven geotextile with a density of no less than 150 gr/m². This material plays a key role by preventing the mixing of fine soil particles with the drainage layer of the base. This preserves the permeability of the base and prevents settlement, while also acting as a barrier against larger roots and weeds.

Crushed Stone for Base (Fraction 0-40 mm)

The base of every pathway is built from certified crushed stone with optimal granulometry (fraction 0-40 or 0-63 mm). This mixture of different sized particles allows for maximum compaction during vibration, creating an exceptionally strong and stable load-bearing base that distributes the load evenly and prevents deformations.

Polymer Sand for Joints (Sika FastFix-131)

As an alternative to standard quartz sand, we offer joint filling with polymer sand. Products like Sika FastFix-131 harden upon contact with water and form a hard, yet elastic joint. This solution 100% stops the growth of grass and moss, prevents the erosion of joints by ants, and does not wash out when cleaning with a pressure washer, minimising maintenance.

    Concrete Garden Kerbs (Class C25/30)

We use vibrated concrete kerbs with standard dimensions of 50x20x8 cm, produced from concrete class C25/30. They are installed on a strip concrete base with a width of 20 cm and a thickness of 10 cm, which fixes them securely and prevents displacement. Kerbs are not only a decorative element but also a key structural component that 'locks' the paving and prevents its lateral expansion.

Where do we build garden pathways?

Our solutions are suitable for a wide range of properties where aesthetics and functionality must go hand in hand.
