What we deliver and which problem we solve
What we deliver
Infra Remonti EOOD specializes in the design and construction of monolithic concrete slabs for a wide range of applications in the areas of Varna, Burgas, Plovdiv, and Sofia. Our activities cover the entire cycle - from engineering consultation and geodetic surveying, through mechanical excavation and base preparation, to pouring and final concrete finishing. We build slabs of all sizes: from small foundations for garden sheds (10-15 m²), through standard parking spaces and garages (30-100 m²), to large-scale industrial floors and logistics areas (over 5000 m²). For this purpose, we have our own machinery, including mini-excavators, rollers, Wacker Neuson vibration plates, trucks for soil removal, as well as specialized equipment such as concrete pumps and polishing machines (helicopters). Our team consists of civil engineers and experienced technical managers who accurately calculate the load and design the optimal slab thickness and type of reinforcement. For coastal locations such as Varna and Burgas, we pay special attention to protection against salt corrosion, by incorporating specialized additives into the concrete and applying protective coatings to extend its service life.
Which problem we solve
Unprofessionally constructed concrete slab is a prerequisite for serious and costly problems. The main risk is uneven settlement (subsidence), which occurs when the base under the concrete is insufficiently compacted or improperly constructed. This leads to cracking of the slab, formation of 'rocking' and compromising the structure placed on top - whether it's a garage, a prefabricated house, or multimillion-pound machinery. Another common problem is chaotic surface cracking, caused by lack of reinforcement, too rapid drying, or absence of control joints. We solve these problems by strictly adhering to the technology. First, we remove the entire humus layer and construct a draining base of crushed stone with a thickness of 20-40 cm, which we compact in layers to 98% Proctor. Second, we always use reinforcement tailored to the load - from single mesh N8 for light slabs to double mesh N12 for industrial loads. Third, we use only certified concrete from reputable suppliers and control the curing process with curing compounds. For large areas, we cut expansion joints that absorb shrinkage stresses and prevent uncontrolled cracking. This eliminates the risk of future costs for demolition and reconstruction.

What does the “Concrete Slab Construction” service include?
Every element of our service is designed to guarantee the strength, functionality, and longevity of your investment.
Geodetic surveying and leveling
We use digital laser levels and total stations to mark with millimeter precision the perimeter, heights, and slopes of the future slab according to the design plan. This ensures precise drainage (standard slope 1-2%) and perfectly horizontal foundations where necessary, preventing water accumulation and subsequent problems.
Mechanical excavation and bed preparation
Using mini-excavators and backhoe loaders, we remove the entire surface humus layer (usually 20-40 cm), which is unsuitable for a load-bearing foundation. We reach stable soil, and the excavated material is transported to a licensed landfill. This step is fundamental to preventing future settlements and deformations of the slab.
Geotextile laying
On the prepared ground bed, we lay non-woven polypropylene geotextile with a density of at least 200 g/m². This membrane acts as a separating layer that prevents the particles from the bulk base from mixing with the soil, preserving its drainage properties and load-bearing capacity in the long term. This is standard practice in modern construction.
Construction of drained load-bearing base
We construct a load-bearing layer of crushed stone (fraction 0-63 mm) with a thickness between 20 and 40 cm, depending on the design load. The backfill is laid in layers of 15-20 cm, with each layer compacted with a heavy vibratory plate (over 450 kg) until 95-98% of the maximum Proctor density is reached. This creates an extremely stable and frost-resistant base.
Precise formwork installation
We use system formwork panels or moisture-resistant plywood, which are securely installed and strengthened to form the exact dimensions and edges of the concrete slab. The formwork is laser-leveled to ensure that the final surface will be at the design heights and slopes. Proper formwork is key to the clean geometry of the final product.
Reinforcement placement according to load
We install steel reinforcing meshes (class B500) with a diameter and grid calculated according to future use. For light loads, we use a single mesh N8 15x15 cm. For parking areas and industrial areas, we always lay a double mesh, separated by spacers (chairs), to be correctly positioned in the body of the concrete and to absorb tensile stresses.
Delivery and pouring of certified concrete
We work with ready-mix concrete of class C25/30 or higher, supplied by certified manufacturers such as Holcim. The concrete is poured using a concrete pump, which allows for quick and homogeneous placement without forming cold joints. We control the consistency (slump class S3) of each delivery to guarantee quality.
Deep vibration of concrete
Immediately after pouring, the entire mass of concrete is treated with submersible vibrators. This process is critical as it removes entrained air and voids, ensures dense encasement of the reinforcement, and guarantees maximum density, homogeneity, and strength of the final element. Skipping this step leads to voids and weak zones.
Machine polishing of the surface (troweling)
After the initial setting of the concrete, the surface is treated with rotary polishing machines, known as 'helicopters'. This achieves an extremely smooth, dense, and wear-resistant surface, ideal for garages, warehouses, and workshops. For outdoor areas, a 'broom' finish can be applied for a better non-slip surface.
Treatment for proper curing (curing)
Immediately after polishing, the surface is sprayed with a special film-forming agent (curing, e.g., Mapei Mapecure E). It seals the pores and drastically reduces the rate of water evaporation from the concrete, which is crucial for preventing superficial shrinkage cracks and for the full hydration of the cement.
Our Concrete Slab Construction Process in 8 Steps
We follow a proven methodology that guarantees quality at every stage – from the initial site visit to the handover of the finished project with a 15-year warranty.
- 1
1. Free site visit and offer preparation
Our technical manager visits your site in Varna or the region to analyze the terrain, access, and your specific requirements. We discuss the purpose to determine the exact load. Within 48 hours, you receive a detailed offer with a breakdown of activities, materials, and deadlines. A 30% advance payment is required to start the project.
- 2
2. Planning and surveying
Before starting excavation work, our team outlines the exact location and dimensions of the slab using geodetic instruments. We define reference points for levels to ensure the design slopes for drainage. This precise preparation eliminates errors in subsequent stages.
- 3
3. Excavation work and base construction
We begin with mechanized excavation to remove humus and weak soil layers. Then we deliver and lay crushed stone in layers. Each layer of 15-20 cm is compacted with a heavy vibratory plate until the design density is reached. In this way, we create a strong, stable, and frost-resistant base, which guarantees against subsidence.
- 4
4. Formwork and reinforcement installation
We build the formwork structure according to the outlines and levels. Inside it, we lay the reinforcing mesh, lifting it on special plastic or steel 'chairs' to ensure the necessary concrete cover on all sides. We check all dimensions and levels one last time before ordering the concrete.
- 5
5. Pouring of the concrete mix
We coordinate the delivery of the required quantity of certified concrete from the nearest concrete plant. We use a concrete pump for fast and even distribution of the mix over the entire area, thus avoiding technological interruptions and cold joints. The process is supervised by an experienced technical manager. An interim payment of 40% is due at this stage.
- 6
6. Vibration and leveling
Simultaneously with pouring, our team works with deep vibrators to compact the concrete and remove air bubbles. Immediately after that, the surface is leveled with a vibratory screed to achieve the design levels and slopes. This is an extremely important step for achieving the strength and correct geometry of the slab.
- 7
7. Final treatment and protection
Once the concrete gains initial strength (usually after a few hours), the surface is machine polished to achieve the desired smoothness. Immediately after, a curing impregnator is applied, which protects against rapid water evaporation and crack formation. If necessary, expansion joints are also cut.
- 8
8. Formwork removal and project acceptance
Depending on the temperature, the formwork is removed after 3 to 7 days. We clean the site of all construction waste. The slab is ready for pedestrian traffic. The acceptance of the project is finalized with the signing of a protocol and the issuance of the 15-year written warranty, after which the remaining 30% of the amount is paid.

Materials that guarantee an everlasting foundation
We select only certified materials from proven manufacturers, because the strength of a slab is the strength of its weakest component.
Concrete Class C25/30 and C30/37 (Holcim / Italcementi Group)
We use ready-mix concrete from leading manufacturers. Class C25/30 has a characteristic compressive strength of 25 MPa on a cylinder (30 MPa on a cube), which is standard for residential construction. For industrial floors and heavy traffic, we apply C30/37. The concrete is standard with water impermeability W8 and frost resistance F150, making it suitable for outdoor climatic conditions in Bulgaria.
Reinforcing steel Class B500
For reinforcing the slabs, we use electro-welded meshes of ribbed steel class B500, which has a guaranteed minimum yield strength of 500 MPa. We typically apply meshes with a bar diameter of Ø8 mm and openings of 150x150 mm. For heavier loads, we use Ø10 mm or Ø12 mm, always ensuring a protective concrete cover of at least 5 cm to prevent corrosion.
Non-woven polypropylene geotextile
Before laying the crushed stone base, we spread non-woven polypropylene geotextile with a weight of 200-300 g/m². Its function is to separate the soil from the aggregate, preventing them from mixing over time under dynamic load. This preserves the drainage capabilities of the base and prevents loss of load-bearing capacity, especially in clayey and silty soils.
Crushed stone fraction 0-63 mm
As a load-bearing base under the concrete slab, we use a mixed fraction of crushed stone 0-63 mm. The heterogeneous granular composition allows for excellent interlocking of particles during layered compaction with vibratory equipment, reaching over 95% of the Proctor density. The thickness of this layer is a minimum of 20 cm and can reach up to 40-50 cm depending on soil conditions and loading.
Specialized concrete admixtures (Sika / Mapei)
To improve the properties of concrete according to specific conditions, we use admixtures from global leaders Sika and Mapei. For sites in Varna and along the Black Sea coast, we incorporate Sika-1®, a crystallizing waterproofing admixture. When working in cold weather, we use anti-freeze admixtures. To achieve high workability without adding water, we use superplasticizers.
Surface hardeners and impregnators (Baumit / Mapei)
For industrial floors and heavily trafficked areas requiring high wear resistance, we apply toppings with quartz or corundum fillers (e.g., Baumit Kovafalt). These are worked into the fresh concrete during polishing to create an extremely strong surface layer. For final protection against stains and dust, the surface is sealed with impregnators such as Mapefloor Finish 58 W.
For which objects are our concrete slabs suitable?
From a small patio in the garden to a huge logistics terminal, we have a solution for every project.
