What we deliver and which problem we solve
What we deliver
Infra Remonti EOOD specialises in the design and construction of complex drainage systems for private properties, residential buildings, hotel complexes, and industrial sites. Our scope of work includes everything from initial hydrological analysis of the terrain to final landscape restoration. We utilise precise proprietary equipment, including mini-excavators for minimal disruption to existing gardens and laser levels to ensure an accurate minimum 1% slope per linear meter of pipe. Our teams are prepared to tackle the specific challenges of different regions – from the high groundwater and saline soils in the coastal areas of Varna and Burgas, to the heavy clay soils in the plains around Plovdiv and the complex urban infrastructure in Sofia. We don't just lay pipes; we create an intelligent system that collects water from critical areas such as building foundations, retaining walls, and low-lying parts of the yard, safely diverting it to a storm sewer, ravine, or specially constructed soakaway. Each project is tailored to the client's specific needs and terrain characteristics, with the goal of long-term and reliable protection of your investment.
Which problem we solve
Uncontrolled water in the yard is a silent destroyer. The problem we solve is not just aesthetic – the puddles and mud. We eliminate the root cause of serious structural damage. Without adequate drainage, water seeps into the soil around foundations, creating immense hydrostatic pressure. This pressure can lead to cracks in concrete, dampness and mould in basements and cellars, compromising the healthy environment and structural integrity of the building. Water retention leads to soil saturation, which reduces its bearing capacity and can cause subsidence of pavements, driveways, and even parts of the house. In clay soils, common in the Varna area, the freeze-thaw cycles of water-saturated soil cause lifting and cracking of concrete structures. Erosion is another serious risk, especially on sloped terrain, where water washes away fertile topsoil and undermines plant roots, retaining walls, and fences. Ignoring the need for drainage leads to progressive deterioration of the property, decreasing its value, and inevitable future repair costs that far exceed the investment in a preventive drainage system. Our job is to prevent this scenario, providing you with peace of mind and security.

What does the "Yard Drainage" service include?
Our service is comprehensive and covers all stages of building a reliable drainage system.
Hydrological Survey and Levelling
We perform precise terrain measurements with a Bosch GRL 400 H rotary laser level. We map natural slopes, identify critical water retention zones, and determine optimal routes for drainage lines. We analyse soil type (clay, sandy) and water sources – surface runoff, high groundwater, downspouts. This initial step is crucial for the effectiveness of the entire system.
Drainage System Design
Based on the survey, our technical team prepares a detailed drawing of the drainage network. The project defines the type (French, linear), location, depth, and length of the trenches, pipe diameter (Ø110/Ø160 mm), number and placement of inspection and collection chambers, as well as the discharge point. The project is agreed with you before work begins.
Machine Excavation of Trenches
We use compact tracked mini-excavators (width up to 1.2 m) to minimise damage to the existing landscape. We excavate trenches to a precise depth (usually 60-90 cm) and width (30-40 cm), adhering to the design slope of a minimum of 1% (1 cm drop per 1 meter length), continuously controlled with a laser receiver. The excavated soil is temporarily deposited at a location you specify.
Geotextile Laying
The bottom and sides of the excavated trench are covered with high-quality non-woven polypropylene geotextile (e.g., Polyfelt TS 20) with a minimum density of 150 g/m². Its role is critical: it acts as a filter that allows water to pass freely but stops soil and mud particles, protecting the drainage system from clogging and ensuring its long-term functionality.
Drainage Pipe Laying
A layer (approx. 5-10 cm) of washed aggregate (16-32 mm fraction) is laid over the geotextile. On top of this, a perforated corrugated HDPE drainage pipe (e.g., Pipelife Pragma), usually Ø110 mm, is placed. The pipes are laid with the perforations facing downwards to collect water from the lowest point. All joints and branches are made with factory fittings for maximum connection security.
Backfilling the Trench with Drainage Gravel
The pipe is completely covered with washed drainage gravel, 16-32 mm fraction, until it is covered by at least 20 cm. This backfill creates a porous medium with a large void volume (approx. 40%), which allows water to quickly reach the perforated pipe. We use only washed material to avoid introducing fine particles that could compromise the system.
Installation of Inspection Chambers and Drainage Channels
At strategic locations, such as corners or long straight sections, we install PVC or concrete inspection chambers that allow for future inspection and cleaning of the system. In paved areas (paving slabs, concrete), we install linear drainage channels (e.g., ACO HexaDrain) with various load classes (A15, B125) and grating designs, which collect surface runoff.
System Closure and Discharge
After backfilling with gravel, the geotextile ends are folded to form a closed "package", fully protecting the drainage layer. The system is connected to the discharge point – an existing storm sewer, a soakaway (dry well), or led to the lowest part of the property (daylighting). All connections are sealed with waterproofing.
Backfilling and Testing
Over the closed geotextile, some of the excavated soil is returned, leaving about 15-20 cm for a topsoil layer. Before final restoration, the system is tested by liberal watering of critical areas to check its functionality. We monitor the flow rate at the discharge point to ensure everything functions as designed.
Final Terrain Restoration
The final step is to restore the terrain to its original state. We apply a topsoil layer, level and lightly compact. If necessary, we re-turf the affected areas with a suitable grass mix. We clear the site of construction waste and hand over the property with a signed acceptance protocol and a 15-year written warranty.
Our 8-step drainage installation process
From initial contact to final handover, we follow a clear and transparent procedure.
- 1
Step 1: Inquiry and Free Site Visit
After your call to +359 88 654 0238, we arrange a convenient day and time for a free site visit. Our technical specialist will visit you to understand the problem, take initial terrain measurements, and discuss your requirements. This initial meeting is essential for preparing an adequate offer and is completely free for clients in Varna and nearby resorts.
- 2
Step 2: Offer and Technical Design
Within 2-3 working days after the site visit, you will receive a detailed offer, which includes a quantitative-cost estimate, description of planned activities, materials used, and execution timelines. Upon acceptance of the offer, we prepare a technical design for the drainage system. We sign a contract, initiating the first payment of 30% for material delivery.
- 3
Step 3: Material Delivery and Site Preparation
We organise the delivery of all necessary materials – drainage pipes, geotextile, aggregates, inspection chambers, and fittings. Before commencing excavation work, we secure the work area, mark out the future trenches according to the design, and ensure we have a clear understanding of the location of existing underground utilities (cables, pipes), if any.
- 4
Step 4: Excavation Work and Levelling
We begin excavation work with our specialised equipment, strictly following the design route. Throughout the entire process, the trench bottom slope is monitored and controlled with a laser level to ensure gravitational water drainage. This precision is crucial for the efficiency and longevity of the drainage system, and we do not allow deviations.
- 5
Step 5: Drainage System Installation
After excavation is complete, we proceed with the actual installation. We carefully lay the geotextile, form the aggregate bed, install the perforated pipes, inspection chambers, and drainage channels. All components are connected using the intended fittings, with special attention paid to the strength and sealing of each connection to avoid future problems.
- 6
Step 6: Backfilling and Trench Closure
Trenches are backfilled layer by layer with drainage gravel, evenly distributed around and over the pipe. Upon reaching the design elevation, the geotextile is folded over to encapsulate the drainage layer. The previously separated soil is returned on top and lightly compacted to prevent subsequent terrain settlement. The process is controlled to restore the original soil density as much as possible.
- 7
Step 7: System Testing and Discharge
Before final terrain restoration, we perform a system test. We simulate heavy rainfall by watering the areas served by the drainage with a hose and observe its behaviour. We check the flow rate at the discharge point to ensure fast and effective drainage. If necessary, fine adjustments are made. At this stage, the second payment of 40% is due.
- 8
Step 8: Final Cleaning and Handover
After successful testing, we complete the surface layer restoration – topsoil application and turfing, if included in the contract. We clean the construction site of any waste and excess materials. We hand over the site with an acceptance protocol, a final invoice for the remaining 30%, and most importantly – a written 15-year warranty for the work performed.

Materials that guarantee durability
The choice of the right components is fundamental to any reliable drainage system. We work only with proven manufacturers.
HDPE Double-Wall Drainage Pipes
We use double-wall corrugated perforated pipes made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), such as Pipelife Pragma. They are characterised by high ring stiffness (SN8 kN/m²), which allows them to withstand soil loads without deformation. Diameters range from Ø110 to Ø200 mm. They are completely resistant to corrosion, chemicals, and biological influences, ensuring an operational life of over 50 years underground.
Non-Woven Polypropylene Geotextile
A key component for filtration. We select non-woven geotextile made of 100% polypropylene, such as Sika-Trexit or Polyfelt TS, with a density of no less than 150 g/m². This material has high water permeability but a very small pore size, which effectively stops the passage of soil and mud to the drainage gravel. It is UV stabilised and completely inert to rot, mould, and chemicals in the soil.
Polymer Concrete Drainage Channels
For collecting surface water from paved areas (concrete, paving stones), we install linear drainage systems made of polymer concrete, for example from the ACO Self 100 series. This material is lighter than traditional concrete, with an absolutely smooth surface for better self-cleaning and is completely frost-resistant and salt-resistant. They are available with grates made of galvanised steel, stainless steel, or cast iron, with load classes from A15 (pedestrian) to C250 (heavy duty).
Washed Drainage Gravel (Aggregate)
The trench backfill is carried out exclusively with washed river or quarry gravel of a uniform fraction, usually 16-32 mm. Washing is mandatory to remove all clay and sand particles that could, over time, clog the geotextile and the pipe itself. This fraction provides an optimal balance between bearing capacity and a high percentage of voids (approx. 40%) for rapid water absorption and diversion.
PVC and Concrete Inspection Chambers
We install inspection and collection chambers that allow access to the system for inspection and maintenance. We use smooth-walled PVC chambers with diameters of Ø315 or Ø400 mm or precast concrete elements for greater depths and loads. The chambers are closed with covers (polymer or cast iron) chosen according to the future load on the terrain above. They are mandatory at every change of direction or slope of the pipeline.
Waterproofing Compounds for Connections
When connecting the drainage system to existing concrete structures, such as building foundations or collection chambers, we use crystallising or elastic waterproofing cementitious compounds. Products like Ceresit CR 65 or SikaTop Seal-107 ensure a 100% watertight and durable connection, preventing back-seepage of water at critical connection points. Proper sealing is a guarantee of security.
